I don’t discriminate against any flavor of cake … but I do love a good old vanilla cupcake with a little strawberry icing.
What or whom inspired you to pursue a career in comedy?
I grew up watching Andrew Dice Clay, Cheech and Chong and SNL … so I was bound to either be a drug addict or a comic. I went with comic.
If Chuck Norris were to corner you in an alley and challenge you to a duel, what would be your weapon of choice?
I would choose a boombox so I could challenge him to a Nikki Minaj rap off.
What are some challenges you’ve faced since going down the comedy track and what has made those obstacles worth overcoming?
It can be tough to overcome that little voice inside you that tells you, “You suck,” but at the end of the day I love making people laugh and doing a good set makes it all worth it.
What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever heard/seen?
A baby monkey riding a baby pig and once my mom peed her pants a little while jumping on a trampoline… it was priceless.
Which comedienne, dead or alive, would you love to work with/meet?
Who DON’T I want to work with?! Just to name a few people: Kristen Wiig, Parker Posey, Christopher Guest, Maya Rudolph, David Wain, Christina Applegate, Sarah Jessica Parker, Louis CK, Amy Poehler, Chelsea Handler, Tina Fey and of course… Larry David.
In what ways do you think you’ve improved or evolved since your first comedy venture?
I just don’t care about bombing anymore.
What long-term/short-term goals do you have for your career?
I would love to do it all! I’m a hustler.
Which character do you most resemble from The Divas?
I’m a combo of all of us. I’m lying. Probably, Shirley.
When you’re not writing/performing comedy, you’re:
Eating, sleeping, walking my friend’s dog Romeo, pretending to exercise and watching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
What’s the difference between appealing to women and appealing to men?
NONE. Funny is funny. I would never want to be the kind of comic who only plays to a certain audience. I get it though, not everyone is going to like my comedy and I’m cool with that.
What’s your favorite comedy movie or T.V. show of all time?
Wet Hot American Summer, Arrested Development,and Selena.
The title of your autobiography?
You Look a Lot Like that Girl from Whitney

Jade Catta-Preta is an up-and-coming comedian and actress who performs all over; she can be seen at the Improv, the Laugh Factory and The World Famous Comedy Store several nights a week.
