Description:

Makes 48 Ladyfingers. Follow recipe closely to achieve a result more delicious and fulfilling than most revenge fantasies.

Ingredients:

4 eggs
2/3 cups white sugar
7/8 cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon tears of your enemies *

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

2. Select a cookie sheet of great resolve. (Something you can trust. Something that will not yield to severe heat or the mere threat of torture.)

3. Methodically line the cookie sheet with parchment paper.

4. Select a clean, strong pastry bag. Equip it with a 1/2 inch plain round tube.

5. Separate the egg whites from the egg yolks. This way they will not be able to corroborate their stories.

6. Put the egg whites in a bowl and BEAT THEM. THEY KNOW WHY THIS IS HAPPENING TO THEM. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY DID! Beat them until soft, supple peaks form. Smile.

7. Slowly add the sugar and continue beating the eggs until they admit their crimes or until they are stiff and glossy, whichever comes first.

8. In another bowl, tell the egg yolks that there is no God.

9. After breaking their faiths, beat the egg yolks with the rest of the sugar. Laugh at their pain.

10. Whip the yolks until they become thick and pale. This is how you know you’ve won.

11. Sift flour and baking powder together over a sheet of smooth wax paper.

12. Fold half of the now-submissive egg whites into the godless egg yolks. Add the flour, as though it is insult to injury.

13. Fold in the other half of the egg whites. They thought they’d been spared. Foolish. So foolish.

14. Pour the mixture into the pasty bag. There is no turning back now.

15. Pipe the batter onto the baking sheet into innocent, raw little ladyfingers

16. Bake for 8 minutes.

17. Celebrate your  triumph and  taste the justice.

*A conservative splash of vanilla may be substituted for tears of your enemies.
