Tig Notaro has been one of the alt-comedy scenes best stand ups for years now in LA. She has many appearances on Conan, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, a Comedy Central Presents, and more. She gained an even higher level of alt-comedy fame when she had what some consider one of the best sets of stand up comedy ever. She dug into some of the tragedy of the last year of her life including her mother’s death and breast cancer and managed to turn it into a cogent and masterful set of stand up comedy. The set was preserved and can be purchased; it’s titled Live (as in living not a live performance) ((Notaro enjoys the fact that the name is often bungled)).
Since that performance things have turned around including improved health and now she contributes regularly to Conan’s show. All of that is a long way of saying that Tig Notaro is a hilarious amazing human being and her doing just about anything is pretty funny. But what’s especially funny is her going into local business demanding they put up her headshots when many admitted they have no idea who she is.
