Martin Scorsese Directs Dr. Seuss Movies

Due to Hugo‘s popularity, Martin Scorsese has decided to ditch action thrillers and, instead, has chosen to dedicate the rest of his career to making movie adaptations of children’s books.

As the recent success of The Lorax has proven, adapting Dr. Seuss books for the big screen pays off handsomely at the box office.  So, Scorsese hopes to cash in on this trend.

Here’s a look at some of the Dr. Seuss adaptations Scorsese is currently working on:

There’s a Wocket in my Pocket.  I Killed It.  Now It’s Dead.

A boy wakes up to find a Wocket in his pocket.  Unfortunately, the Wocket follows the boy’s family everywhere they go and terrorizes them by placing Bofas on their sofas, Geelings on their ceilings, and Zowers in their showers.  It gets so bad that the family’s forced to leave their home and hide out in their houseboat.  But the Wocket follows them there, too, leaving the boy no other recourse but to kill the Wocket with a massive rock-et.

Oh, The Places You’ll Go… When Your Dead Body’s in the Trunk of My Car

A boy is off to “Great Places” because he just got “made.”  But the celebration is cut short when he makes fun of Joe Pesci.  Joe Pesci kills the boy and then throws the dead boy in the trunk of his car.  Pesci and his friends then drive the dead body on an adventure through many different cities until they finally bury the body in upstate New York.

Green Eggs and BAM!  You’re Dead

A taxi driver finds out that some guy named Sam I Am is forcing kids to eat green eggs and ham.  Disgusted by the scumbag’s attempts at taking advantage of innocent kids, the taxi driver sets out to make sure every child in New York gets a balanced breakfast of “regular” eggs and ham.  To make sure Sam I Am doesn’t interfere, the taxi driver shoots Sam I Am in a box, shoots him with a fox, shoots him on a boat, and then shoots him with a billy goat.  Afterwards, the taxi driver tries green eggs and ham for the first time and realizes that it actually doesn’t taste too bad.

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Dead Fish

Infamous fish mobster, Bad Fish, introduces Red Fish to the underground crime world of the ocean’s bottom.  Bad Fish trains Red Fish to be a mole in the local fish police force.  Meanwhile, Captain Good Fish asks recent Fish Police Academy graduate, Blue Fish, to work undercover for Bad Fish’s crime network.  But Blue Fish and Red Fish soon discover that there’s a mole working for their respective organizations, and so they both threaten to reveal each other’s identity.  In the process, Blue Fish ends up killing Bad Fish, Red Fish ends up killing Blue Fish, someone throws Captain Good Fish off a rooftop (for no good reason other than it looks really badass), and finally Sad Fish kills Red Fish and becomes Glad Fish.
